Once again, it's Friday and you know what that means. It's time for my top five of the week. I'm naming the top five good things that come from going back to school. {As some of you know, I'm not really ready to send the kids back to school...it's just so hard to say goodbye to summer!}
Here goes:
5. I don't have to make lunch if I don't want to. I am usually happy not having lunch or just grabbing some air-popped popcorn around 2pm if I'm really hungry. Not the girls. They need lunch! I've been pretty bad this summer and made good ol' PB and J quite often or maybe even went as far as mac and cheese or a pizza in the oven. But all that comes to an end next Wednesday!
4. I can go to WalMart all by myself and get the groceries. I won't even have to bargain with anybody by saying: "If we're good while we're in here, we can pick out a ___________." I may even sneak some licorice in the cart and nobody has to know...
3. Back to school shopping. Who doesn't love the smell of new crayons, pencils and glue?!?
2. If we're going back to school, it means that fall is coming. Fall is my favorite time of year! I love to decorate my house for fall with pumpkins, leaves, and harvest-themed decor not to mention all the lovely fall scented candles and hand soap! Don't you just love the thought of sweatshirts, blue jeans and football?!?
1. Going back to school means that the girls get haircuts. If I have to schedule haircuts for the girls, then mama might as well get a little spruce-up, too. We're headed to see Jess this morning and I can't wait to get a new 'do!
Maybe this back-to-school / saying goodbye to summer thing won't be so bad after all...
Happy weekend everyone : 0 )
