A quick post on the top five things going on in our week:
5. Field Trips! Makenna had a field trip to Alma to the Harlan County Dam and Water Jamboree yesterday. Marah has a field trip on Tuesday to the Hastings Museum. Makenna had a great time yesterday and Marah can hardly wait for Tuesday! The most fun thing for them is getting to plan what to pack in their lunch boxes since this mama is a stickler for eating school lunch.
4. Track Meets! Makenna’s class track meet is on Monday and Marah’s school track meet is on Thursday of next week. All these field trips and track meets can only mean one thing…SuMmeR VacAtIon is on it’s way!!
3. Rain followed by wind. Not usually something we’re super happy about especially since planting is a good two weeks behind schedule as of now, but all the moisture was surely needed. The past few days have been a bit windy so that’s helping to dry things out. Being out of the field has it’s advantages. All those little jobs on the farm are getting attention and it feels good to know they’re done. Pasture fences are up and looking good, calves branded, and iron piles are started. Farmer is hoping to go to the field tomorrow or Sunday. Gentlemen, start your tractors!
2. Vitamins! This week, our family started taking some new vitamins and supplements and we’re all feeling really healthy. A couple of the vitamins taste terrible and I warned the girls, but they took them anyway and said afterward that they weren’t that bad!
