Last week, Farmer and I were fortunate enough to get to go on a little vacation. He was treated with this trip by Cargill. If you farm, you know Cargill. We do lots of fertilizer and chemical business with them during the spring and also sell them our grain come harvest time. We took this trip because Farmer participated in a 300 bushel/acre plot put on by Cargill. The guys were invited on a trip that would include a tour of a phosphorous mine and also a meeting each evening. The wives were invited to come, but had to pay their own way ; )
We went a few days ahead of time and had some fun with other Cargill customers and employees.
Our fishing trip. We went out with GulfStream. They were so much fun and took us right to the fish! I'm not even sure how many we all caught since Mike {the deck hand} was throwing back the small ones and baiting our lines quicker than you could say lickety-split! We were even able to take some of our catch to Crabby Bill's where they cooked our fish for us for supper that night. Delish! And we were chased by dolphins on our way out to sea! Dolphins. For Real. { Things that don't happen in Nebraska!}
The Beach. I've never seen sand so white or thought sand could be so soft. LoVeD it! {Aren't those little footprints just adorable?!?}
The beautiful sunset. We ate outside as often as we could. The views, sounds and smells were awesome. I really think it does a soul good to feel the air off the water.
And this just cracked me up! Right next to our dinner table!
We had a great time and would definitely go back to Clearwater, FL.
And just a dose of reality for y'all..the heifers started calving two days after we left home {about a week ahead of schedule!} and we returned to a cold and windy day followed by about 6" +/- of snow the next day! Oh well, it was nice while it lasted! ; )
Happy weekend from my snowy Home Sweet Home to yours!
